Cartoonist extraordinaire Jitender Bedi’s name brings a smile to millions of faces thanks to his association with Raj Comics’ flagship comedy character Bankelal. Jitender brought the much needed expression required for the kind of comedy the ever-scheming Bankelal thrived on. Every single title of Bankelal was overloaded with caricaturish characters – from Sanki sages to diabolically hilarious demons, and Bedi drew all of them with aplomb.

After his sad demise, Raj Comics dedicated a comic Bedi Aur Bodi to late Bedi ji. In this comic, Bankelal comes tête-à-tête with the artist who drew him tirelessly for over 25 years, till the very last day of his life. Very few fans know Bedi ji expired on his drawing board while drawing his beloved Bodiwala Bankelal.
